Photography Club
Students in Grade 3 were busy for the last month becoming professional photographers in the Photography Club. They learned how to hold the camera properly and learned about the many functions and features of the digital cameras. During the second and third sessions, the students learned about The Rule of Thirds. This strategy places the subject on the side of the picture – not directly in the centre! The students experimented with this process using the digital cameras and the iPads. Next, we learned about Filling the Frame. This is where students zoomed in on one image as the major focal point. They also used their knowledge of Rule of Thirds and showed how sometimes you can have both Filling the Frame and Rule of Thirds working in the same image. Finally, on the last two days the students had an opportunity to use the iPads and our green screen. They took a selfie in front of the green screen. After, they picked their dream location (from a Google search) and put their selfie picture in front of this location. The students had a great time! We hope you will enjoy the photos below.
