Today we worked on building our prototype models. We talk about why prototyping is important in testing our design ideas. We gave the grade 5s certain materials they could use for their prototype model. The materials we provided were:We're
We're hoping the students find problems and struggle through the prototyping process so they can find solutions to those problems. They worked together in their table groups to talk about what they were doing and to get ideas of each other.
Today we learning about blue prints and drawing up our design before we start building protoypes.
Mr. Wobst gave an example of what our blueprint should look like and we talked about why we need one. Then it was the student's turn to begin their blueprints.
Mr. Clark gave a quick example of how we might make a prototype and its eventual size.
Today we looked at how problems in people's lives can be solved by giving them something. The students wrote about how they think a chair might solve a problem that someone has.
Responses were written in Google Docs and student collaborated by being able to see what each other write as well as share their idea through speaking at their tables.
We will hopefully some responses soon too!
Today we focused on doing some preliminary sketching of #wikiseats that might solve a problem in someone's life. We will continue to work on linking something like a chair to a problem that someone has, and how that 'thing' can solve the problem.
We are a grade 5 class that won a #wikiseat scholarship. We are designing and building a wikiseat for someone in our lives. The chair will help solve a problem in that person's life.
